Use of ICT in the Pedagogical Practice of Rural Teachers in Colombia

Abstract

This article presents the results of a descriptive study conducted in twenty-one rural educational institutions in the department of Cundinamarca, Colombia. The purpose was to investigate the use of ICT in the pedagogical practices of a group of teachers working from preschool through primary school. The research employed a mixed-methods approach with both qualitative and quantitative techniques. The data analysis shows that the teachers in the studied rural schools are at a basic level of ICT proficiency. However, it is important to note that some of these teachers are progressing to an intermediate level of proficiency, particularly in using ICT to propose and implement classroom projects.
