RESULTS OF THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE NEW COMPETENCY-BASED STUDY PROGRAMS IN THE DEPARTMENTS OF THE WESTERN ZONE OF EL SALVADOR

At the educational level, curricular changes are being developed with the aim of improving the quality of education for the student population, but it is necessary to create the optimal conditions that allow for their relevant and appropriate implementation. This is a descriptive study that examines the results obtained from the application of competency-based curricula in the first and second cycles of basic education. To this end, Pedagogical Advisors in the western region of El Salvador were interviewed. The research addresses two main categories: first, it determines the level of teacher preparedness in the implementation of the new competency-based curricula; and second, it assesses the achievements in terms of the programs' applicability. Finally, the study presents specific conclusions and recommendations based on the results.
