Abstract

Our Constitution of the Republic recognizes the family as the fundamental basis of society and guarantees its protection by the State, thus ensuring its integration, well-being, and the comprehensive development of each of its members; principles enshrined in Articles 32-36 of the same legal document.

In accordance with these constitutional precepts, secondary legislation has regulated child support, which consists of providing children with a stable home, adequate food, and everything necessary for the development of their personality during a period that begins from conception until they reach eighteen years of age or complete their studies or obtain a profession or trade. The development of their personality includes moral and religious formation and ongoing guidance to achieve comprehensive, that is, bio-psycho-social, development.
