CAUSES OF DROPOUT AMONG STUDENTS AT THE CATHOLIC UNIVERSITY OF EL SALVADOR

Abstract

One concern at higher education level is the dropout rate of students. Even though Universidad Católica de El Salvador does not have a high rate of dropouts, this is not an excuse for not worrying about this situation. The main purpose of this research was to present an analysis of the different dropout causes as well as to establish alternatives to decrease the rate. In the research we took into account the personal, academic and social causes. The date was gathered through surveys to current students and a phone 
interview to dropout students.
