TOMATO (LYCOPERSICUM SCULENTUM MILL) CULTIVATION UNDER CHEMICAL (MINERAL) AND ORGANIC FERTILIZATION MODALITIES IN THE UNICAES GREENHOUSES

The Organic Agriculture and commerce provide the world with a high agro-ecosystem service level, and they present social and economic opportunities for people, especially those who require food support as well as ways to get out of poverty. The main objective of this research was to approach and evaluate the results in each of the steps in the production of tomatoes using two
treatments, one with mineral chemic and the other with organic fertilization, in the tomatoes crop in a greenhouse (net house style) at UNICAES. The observed variables were: seedling size before the treatment, leaves and fruit quantity per bunch of the plants. This process was carried out through periodical measures in order to get monthly results. Moreover, a comparative management was set up, by evaluating the seedlings growing and development with the application of organic products; in relation to the seedlings’ development, it was also determine most appropriate protocol for tomatoes’ production in greenhouses. Treatment 1, called witness, (chemical mineral fertilization) versus treatment 2 (organic fertilization) presented no significant differences. There was no significant difference in relation of plant growing none stem thickness of the compared samples. Tomatoes production in greenhouse (net house) allows the use of techniques that provide the same results using organic or chemical fertilization, but using organic fertilization decreases production costs.
