Characterization of the teaching staff, from the perspective of the nursing student, during the period of September 2013 to December 2014

Abstract

The nature of the nursing profession is to provide in tegral care under standards of quality and warmth. For this, it is necessary to train the future nursing pro fessionals under the conception of scientific knowl edge based on principles and values, which must be strengthened in the process of teaching-learning. The teacher plays a far-reaching and fundamental role in the formation of the student, and the perception the student has will depend on the cognitive, moral and spiritual characteristics that the teacher practices. From this, the research presents an analysis of the student’s perception about the characteristics of the teacher, where features on the cognitive domain were identified as well as moral characteristics. It shows that the majority of class time teachers who teach spe cial subjects in nursing reflect features that strengthen the teaching-learning process, and therefore; it can generate a favorable student performance when the student is in real scenarios.
