The usefulness of mobile devices and the learning level of university students

Abstract

The research had as an objective establish the relationship between the usage of the mobile devices and in the level of learning in the university students at the major of Education in the Faculty of Sciences and Arts, face to face modality, at Universidad Católica de El Salvador, situated in Santa Ana, El Salvador. The research has a correlational type because it tries to relate two variables from the same group, and it was applied the statistical method of correlation. The po pulation for the second semester of the year 2014 was 525 students and it was taken an intended sample of the 24% with 126 students: 63 male and 63 female. It was concluded that the mobile devices are useful for the students that would like the get a higher or better learning, when they give these devices the right aca demic usage. This implies that the improvement of the quality of the wired and wireless services in the higher education institutions is necessary to achieve a teaching-learning process more integral and with higher quality. In other words, the current university professional development is highly influenced positi vely by the technological capacity of the educational institutions and their students.
