Models applied in the development of teaching practice in Higher Education Institutions of the Central American Region

Abstract

This research was the main purpose in analyzing models of administrative and pedagogical work applied 
in the development of teaching practice in Higher Education Institutions (IES) in Central America. There 
attended the National Pedagogical University Francisco Morazan (UPNFM) of Honduras, the Pan Ame
rican University of Guatemala, School Teacher Training Secondary Education (EFPEM) of Guatemala, 
Free University of Costa Rica, Costa Rica Institute of Technology, Central American University (UCA) 
in Nicaragua, Don Bosco University (UDB) of El Salvador, Universidad Francisco Gavidia (UFG) of El 
Salvador, Central American University Jose Simeon Cañas (UCA) of El Salvador, Evangelical University 
of El Salvador (UEES), Institute specialized Higher Education the Holy Spirit of El Salvador, Sonsonate 
University (USO) of El Salvador and Catholic University of El Salvador (UNICAES). For this research, 
there was established a virtual contact (email, social networks) and telephone the coordinators of the tea
ching practice. At thirteen institutions, they were applied a virtual questionnaire to obtain information.

The research presents major findings as the fact that all coordinators have clear functions as part of the role 
in the process of teaching practice. The criteria for the selection of teachers counselors, supervisors, tutors 
and practice centers; methods strategies, resources and evaluation applied in the educational field; as well 
as the reasons why cash value as the work done at the administrative and pedagogical level.
