Relevance and acceptance of the "Everyone Can Learn" pedagogical strategy

Abstract

The study level of first graders in Elementary School in El Salvador seems to be affected for desertion, repetition, absenteeism, and overage, enabling significant school dropout rate. The subjects that represent more difficulties are Mathematics and Languages, so the teacher should be trained and constantly updated in order to develop mechanisms and strategies that would facilitate teaching learning process in these specific subjects.

The research evaluated the relevance of the pedagogic strategy “Everyone can learn”, which is focused in the two previously mentioned subjects and proposes an active methodology to develop them. The results show that this pedagogic strategy is relevant, appropriated, adequate, and convenient; it has an active methodology that allows the attainment of competences merely of Mathematics and Languages, improves the general academic performance, diminishes absenteeism, repetition and, therefore, reduces school failure. Because of that, it is recommendable that methodology to be implemented and developed in all schools that need it.
