Abstract

World economy – in the last decades – has changed its production structures. Some sectors that have been traditional in the internal production support are not that way anymore, whereas the other sectors that used to be not important in the production, in fact, have become relevant. That is the case of worldwide tourism.

This is how developed countries took forefront in this area and improved their infrastructure, logistics, security, laws, etc., in order to support this fruitful economy area. Countries like France, Spain, Germany, and many more, are also now well-known for their significant tourist routes and are essential parts of the lately generated incomes by the worldwide tourism.

In El Salvador, the government in power – either central or local, has seen the economic potential that has this sector, and also has created public policies oriented to guide and support the tourist companies. Therefore, it is important to evaluate how the business environment of such companies is and, specifically, inquire about the business environment of the tourist companies in the city of Santa Ana, on how the public and local policies are being exploited by the companies of this sector, also to know which factors can influence in the right development of itself.
