Abstract

This research dealt with the prenatal stimulation, its evolution and its benefits, understanding it as a series of auditory, tactile, visual and motor actions, seeking communication with the unborn person, their learning and enhance their physical, sensory development and mental.

The study was documentary, finding that prenatal stimulation has a relatively recent history worldwide. In the Republic of El Salvador, although people from the uterine life are the subject of constitutional rights (protection of physical and mental health, education, assistance and integral development), the public health sector does not apply any method awareness, dissemination and use of prenatal stimulation. The private health sector (hospitals or clinics with gynecological and obstetrical services) does not have a comprehensive alternative to ensure coverage and awareness, teaching and application of stimulation of the unborn.
