Abstract

A suitable teacher training who work at the university level constitutes a key factor to enhance quality in the academic procedures. Professional and human excellence influences the future professionals who will develop their work with excellence in the economic, social and cultural development of the country.

In addition, it is important that the teacher be competent in general areas of the educative curriculum as well as specific aspects of the subject that is imparted. From the above, teachers should prepare in the best possible way so they can match the needs and requirements of the students. If teachers are well prepared, they will provide coherent and well-founded answers in both theory and labor field of any area.

In this way, it is interesting to know the activities, which lead to the development of the professionalization of professors in El Salvador, its functioning, application and pedagogical foundations. The essential aspect of this study became a qualitative tool that allowed knowing the institutional policies that exist in order to improve the pedagogical practice of the professors in the university setting.
