Abstract

This research aimed to establish the main learning strategies used by students of the Bachelor of Science in Education, Basic Education option, in face-to-face modality of the Faculty of Sciences and Humanities of the Catholic University of El Salvador, Santa Ana. The research was framed in the descriptive type, since it exposed the main learning strategies applied by university students during their professional training process.

The researched population consisted of all the students enrolled in that major during the semester II/2016. It concluded that the learning strategies used by them are of external sensorial character, helping with technology to collect information, and of internal sensorial character to process it. Besides, the importance of technology in learning was evidenced, but with the limitations of quantity and quality that they have at a personal and institutional level to perform a fully effective academic work.
