Consumer Behavior: The Case of Students at the Catholic University of El Salvador

Abstract

This research focused on the economic and social impact in the families of the students who finished their technical career in Management and Tourist Development at the Multidisciplinary Campus in Ilobasco, Universidad Católica de El Salvador, taking as a sample the number of students who finished this program from the year 2010 to the year 2015.

The results showed an impact in the improvement of higher minimum wages; more opportunities to access management job positions, leaderships, supervision, among others. Besides this, it was known the workplaces where the students could work, as well as identified the entrepreneurs who have started running their business in tourism, gastronomy, sales, among others; and the economic and social impact these ones contribute to their communities through the knowledge they acquired through their technical career and their experiences with Municipal, Cultural and Educational institutions.
