Abstract

According to the Law of Integral Protection for Children and Adolescents (LEPINA), a child is considered any person from the moment of conception until twelve years of age, and is known as an adolescent from twelve to eighteen years of age.

The journey from pregnancy to birth until early childhood is an amazing and wonderful experience. Prenatal care, education of the mother and family, proper nutrition, early stimulation, and healthcare during pregnancy are factors that decisively impact the survival and quality of life of the future child. Therefore, it is necessary to view the pregnant woman in a holistic way, ensuring the integral development of both mother and unborn baby.

Prenatal care should be guided toward comprehensive education, where intrauterine stimulation is considered an important strategy that allows behavioral changes and health improvement, thus developing sensory abilities and skills in unborn children.

Intrauterine stimulation consists of a process of various physical techniques (auditory, visual, motor, and tactile) with the purpose of promoting the development and maturation of the central nervous system of the baby in the womb.
