Challenges Faced in the Development of Graduation Projects by Graduates of the Bachelor’s Degree in Educational Sciences with a Specialization in English Language Teaching During the 2013–2016 Period

Abstract

This article describes in detail the challenges faced by graduates of the Bachelor’s Degree in Educational Sciences with a specialization in English Language Teaching while developing their graduation projects in the three available modalities: research, internship, and project, during the 2013–2016 period. The sample consisted of thirty students who completed their graduation projects during those years and ten academic advisors who were surveyed electronically in order to gather information and clarify the challenges encountered from the beginning to the completion of the process.

Through the data obtained, it was verified that regardless of the type of graduation project selected, each modality has its own particularities and complexities. The findings revealed that limited experience in research, insufficient familiarity with academic activities within the public education sector, misunderstanding of methodological guidelines, and the support provided by advisors are key factors that can either contribute to a successful graduation process or make its completion more challenging.
