Characterization of Micro and Small Enterprises in the Tourism and Handicraft Sector Served by the Micro and Small Enterprise Development Center in the Northern Area of Ahuachapán and Santa Ana

Since 2010, the Catholic University of El Salvador in Santa Ana, in a public-private partnership with the National Commission for Micro and Small Enterprises, has implemented one of the Micro and Small Enterprise Development Centers in the department. Through this center, a series of services aimed at strengthening business development are provided.
In recent years, economic growth has been observed in different sectors, particularly in the tourism sector. In this sense, this article develops a characterization of tourism and handicraft enterprises served by these institutions, with the purpose of using this information to provide more appropriate support to them.
