Early Stimulation and Neurodevelopment in Early Childhood

Abstract

Early childhood stimulation is a natural process that is practiced through daily interaction with children. Through this process, children can maximize their intellectual, physical, and emotional abilities, gaining greater control over the world around them.

The purpose of this research was to identify the knowledge, educational characteristics, and cultural factors that parents possess regarding early stimulation, as well as the practices they implement at home. To achieve this, interviews with open-ended and closed-ended questions were conducted, considering the variables of knowledge, early stimulation, neuronal development, educational factors, cultural factors, and the applicability of early stimulation.

The study systematically observed, analyzed, and reflected that parents and/or caregivers do not have a clear understanding of the concept of early stimulation. However, from an empirical perspective, they do apply certain stimulation techniques with children. Furthermore, regarding educational development, a weakness was identified in the search for information about early stimulation, influenced by existing cultural factors.
