Transdisciplinarity as a Factor of Change in Modern Educational Practice: Based on the Epistemological Perspectives of Edgar Morin and Basarab Nicolescu

Abstract

This essay explores the concept of transdisciplinarity as understood by the selected authors, specifically Edgar Morin and Basarab Nicolescu. An effort is made to define a general concept of what transdisciplinarity means, highlighting its importance in addressing the multiple challenges that the contemporary world poses to educators as well as students.

Likewise, this essay examines a comparison (not exhaustive) based on the identification of convergent and divergent points between both authors regarding the subject under analysis, as well as the influence they believe this practice has had and continues to have on educational training processes and academic demands.

Finally, a brief overview is provided of the possible impacts of transdisciplinarity on learning experiences and its relevance in the everyday dynamics of the educational process.
