Abstract

The digital transformation process has mainly influenced small and medium-sized enterprises. Digital transformation is a highly relevant topic in both business and academic environments. The Covid-19 pandemic has impacted the digital transformation of countries in Latin America and the Caribbean in different ways, in order to respond to the challenges they face (CEPAL, 2020).

This research describes how this process is being adopted in companies, seeking continuous improvement in overall operations through the use of information and communication technology tools such as social networks, online advertising, websites, and the implementation of integrated management systems. All of this aims at the proper management of data and processes in order to remain competitive in the market. In addition, some limitations involved in the adoption of these tools in small and medium-sized enterprises are reported, which were the subject of the study.
