Abstract

The purpose of this research was to determine the needs regarding teaching methodology and the attitudes toward learning English among first-year students enrolled in the Bachelor of Education with a Specialization in English Language and the Bachelor of Arts in English. The aim was to create objectives focused on the students’ specific characteristics in order to enhance the learning process.

This exploratory study was conducted using the qualitative research paradigm. A total of 60 first-year students from both degree programs were surveyed through a needs analysis questionnaire. The findings revealed that students require a more effective type of assessment, particularly one that is focused on learning.
