Abstract

The objective of this applied research was to propose a new, updated classification or taxonomy of centralized digital storage models feasible for micro and small businesses, explaining the technological solutions available on the market in a simple way and without complex technical jargon. The research answers the question: What would be the updated taxonomy for viable centralized digital storage for micro and small businesses?

Given the numerous acronyms and technical concepts found in the technical documentation for implementing digital storage services, and considering the significant changes in the associated technologies over the last five years, staying up-to-date to identify the most effective technological solution for a company has become increasingly complex. Therefore, this research provides an epistemological and practical contribution, offering financial, administrative, and IT managers a guide for choosing the technological solution that effectively manages the company's digital information storage.
