Material in Virtual Platforms and Its Impact on Learning and Course Perception

Abstract

Didactic materials play a crucial role in developing students' skills in online or blended courses. The quality of these materials and their accompanying activities significantly influence students' learning and perception of the course content.

This research aimed to determine whether the class materials uploaded by professors to the Moodle platform used by the University promote active learning by helping students establish clear objectives, engage in participatory activities, and develop higher-order thinking skills, and whether this correlates with a positive perception of the course and student learning.

The study found that, in general, instructors upload materials that foster active learning and that these materials are associated with a more positive perception of the course and a higher level of learning achieved by students.
