Blended learning, conducted through Moodle, is one of the current methods used by universities to prepare future professionals. In this modality, self-learning processes are of vital importance. The study analyzed the impact of self-learning developed by students enrolled in blended-learning programs belonging to the Faculty of Sciences and Humanities at Universidad Católica de El Salvador.
Information was collected through a survey administered to students and an observation focused on self-learning processes that could be verified within Moodle virtual classrooms.
The results show that students engage in self-learning processes through Moodle, with the intermediate level receiving the highest score. The most significant impact of self-learning is its influence on students’ personal and professional development, as well as its usefulness in the workplace.
