Software and applications for the different stages of scientific research projects

Abstract

This article explores how the Research Methods and Techniques course for the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture relates to various technological advancements. To this end, two software programs and nine applications were identified that can be used during the introduction to the research process.

The methodology consisted of compiling scientific articles identified in Google Scholar, as well as public domain publications such as videos, websites, and other resources.

The results focused on the activities inherent to the research process of the course, such as the development of specific research skills in information management (text processing and bibliographic management), sample size calculation, data collection and graphical representation, and information dissemination and communication. They also addressed transversal skills such as scientific curiosity, computer literacy related to the field of study, and a commitment to quality.
