Situation of virtual language learning for students with Autism Spectrum Disorders

Abstract

The research presented exposes information related to the impact of the COVID 19 pandemic on the situation of virtual language learning for Ecuadorian students with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD). For this, a non-experimental type of research with a cross-sectional design was followed. The sample consisted of 150 language teachers (Spanish, English, French and Italian), 100 parents of students with ASD. To collect the data, 2 instruments were used: a Test to evaluate the perception of teachers and a Test to evaluate the perception of parents. The results obtained show that students with ASD have increased their academic performance in the 
area of   languages   since the virtual classes began, teachers declared that students with ASD are highly motivated towards learning, and parents expressed that their level participation in their children's instruction is greater and more significant.
